Our Story

All stories start somewhere, and for us, it started with a beginners Mindfulness course taken by our founder Vicky in order to get a couple of hours a week of peace and escape the hectic of life. Read on to find out where it led to….

The Wee Retreat Glasgow studios were established in 2018, opening with a timetable of incredible, wide ranging wellbeing classes that surpassed all Vicky’s expectations and put a huge smile on her face.

After a wee blip in the business plan creeping in during March 2020, we created an online outreach service called Time for You, to make sure everyone had access to wellbeing classes while retreating at home.

Realising the need in society for a better work life balance to make the world a happier place to be, our online service designed for workplace wellbeing was established in August 2020, aptly called Wellbeing @ Work. We love working with organisations to embed wellbeing within the culture to ensure it’s not just a tick box exercise and everyone benefits.

Working with all the amazing wellbeing practitioners we work with, we got to thinking, who is looking after them? As instructors ourselves, we know if we keep giving without looking after ourselves, we’ll have nothing to give and understanding the role support and community have in this process is invaluable so, Nurture & Grow was born in 2021. A service exclusively for the ones looking after everybody else.

In 2022, The Wee Retreat CIC, partnered with Finn’s Place and The Southside Fringe to put on the first ever Southside Wellbeing Festival. This ran from May 20th – 22nd and was a wonderful celebration of wellbeing in all its forms.

And this just about brings us up to date. Vicky has lots more ideas in mind for the future so stay up to date with us by following our social media pages and signing up for our mailing list.

The journey isn’t over yet, The Wee Retreat is just getting warmed up.
